Union Beach is a small borough in northern Monmouth County, New Jersey, set along Raritan Bay between Keyport and Keansburg. Just 1.8 square miles in size, it is one of the Bayshore region's compact coastal communities — a bedroom suburb of New York City where the Manhattan skyline is visible across the water from the bayfront beach. The borough's origins lie in farmland. The area was part of Raritan Township (later Hazlet), and following the development of the Central Railroad of New Jersey, the Poole Farm became the site of a subdivision in the early 1900s. Developer Charles Carr renamed an area known as East Point Beach Estates as Union Beach in 1920, and the borough was incorporated in 1925.
