Somers Point is a city in eastern Atlantic County, New Jersey, on the north shore of Great Egg Harbor Bay, immediately across the water from Ocean City. John Somers, an English immigrant, was the first European settler of what is now Somers Point, purchasing land along Great Egg Harbor Bay in 1693.
